Post-emergence herbicide for the eradication of broadleaf weeds on sugar beet crops
Active ingredient: sulfonylurea derivatives
Manufacturer: Sinokem Hebei Corporation, China
Formulation: wettable powder
Packaging: bag, 600 g (contains 20 water-soluble packets of 30 g each)
Mode of action
The product is mainly absorbed by the above-ground parts of weeds, and partially by the root system via soil moisture. The active ingredient is transported to the growth points of the plants, where it blocks cell division processes. Growth of sensitive weeds stops within a few hours after application. The first visible signs of herbicide activity, manifested as color change in weeds, appear approximately one week after application. Complete weed death occurs over several weeks.
Advantages:
Effective eradication of a wide spectrum of annual broadleaf weeds on sugar beet crops.
No negative effect on crop plants when application guidelines are followed.
Due to soil activity, the product kills weeds that germinate.
No negative impact on subsequent rotation crops.
The product is safe for all types of beets at any growth stage, provided the beet crop is not under stress. Application should begin from the moment when at least 70% of crop plants have emerged until row closure.
The majority of weeds are better controlled when they are in the cotyledon to 2-leaf stage. Some weeds (field mustard, sunflower) can be controlled up to 6 leaves. Application at later stages will be less effective; some weeds will only be halted in growth and development.
The product must be applied with TALANT surfactant at a rate of 100 ml per 100 liters of working solution, or 200-300 ml/ha at a spray rate of 200-300 liters/ha. Complete and uniform coverage of plant surfaces with the working solution is mandatory.
Preparation of working solution
To prepare the working solution, fill the sprayer tank to 1/3 with water, turn on the mixing mode. Add the required amount of the product. Turn on the mixing mode and top up the tank with water to full capacity, adding the required amount of TALANT surfactant at the end (when the tank is filled to 2/3-3/4 of its volume).
Precautions
Do not apply the product when plants are under stress — drought, frost, pest damage, etc.
In case of drought, if the protection program for sugar beet includes non-grass herbicides, it is recommended to apply these herbicides at least 7 days after applying KARE.
Compatibility with other pesticides
The product is compatible in tank mixes with other herbicides recommended for sugar beet protection. To control a broader spectrum of broadleaf weeds, it is advisable to use KARE in combination with betaine group herbicides and/or products based on the active ingredient KLETODIM. In such cases, dissolve KARE first, then add the partner component.
When tank mixing with non-grass herbicides based on KLETODIM, only TALANT surfactant should be used.
Weather conditions
Optimal temperature for application is +15…+25°C. If air temperature is below +10°C or exceeds +25°C for 3-5 hours after application, this may cause temporary yellowing of sugar beet leaves. These symptoms disappear within 10 days, without affecting further crop development, yield, or sugar content. Rainfall within 2 hours after application may significantly reduce the product's efficacy.
Replanting after crop death
If replanting is necessary (within 4 months after application), it is recommended to replant only sugar beet. Thereafter, no restrictions apply to planting crops in the rotation.
Advantages:
Effective eradication of a wide spectrum of annual broadleaf weeds on sugar beet crops.
No negative effect on crop plants when application guidelines are followed.
Due to soil activity, the product kills germinating weeds.
No negative impact on subsequent rotation crops.
