Zinnia 'Cheerful Youth' – a low-growing annual up to 50–60 cm tall, which grows easily in open ground and containers. The bush is branched, symmetrical, with dense green foliage and large flower heads – corollas with a diameter of 10–11 cm. Flowers form full double heads of various shades: white, yellow, pink, orange, red and burgundy, often with a bright center.
The variety is characterized by low care requirements: it is resistant to various climatic conditions, tolerates sunny locations well, and is protected from strong winds. Plants prefer fertile, well-drained soil, but can also grow in less favorable soils due to their undemanding nature. Regular watering and moderate fertilization (e.g., adding lime) contribute to brighter flower coloration and prolonged blooming.
'Cheerful Youth' is ideal for flower beds, large garden plots, rabatkas, as well as for growing in pots on balconies or in greenhouses. Seeds can be sown for seedlings in February–April (greenhouse/hothouse) and transplanted into open ground in May. Blooming begins in July and continues until the first frosts, while the plant remains heat-loving and resistant to moderate colds. Thanks to its bright coloring and compact growth, the variety looks great both in group plantings and in combination with other annual and perennial plants.
