Description Nizhinsky 12
Cucumber Nizhinsky 12 is a bee-pollinated mid-late variety with a long-vined plant, which can reach up to 2 meters in length. The fruits have an elongated-oval shape, dark green or light green color with a large-warty surface and black-spined covering. The length of the green cucumbers varies from 9 to 13 cm, the diameter is 3-5 cm, and the weight is 90-140 grams. The flesh has a crisp texture and excellent taste, making this variety especially popular for pickling and canning, as it does not form hollows inside the fruits.

The Nizhinsky 12 variety is characterized by good yield, ranging from 1.5 to 3.5 kg per square meter, and resistance to fungal diseases such as olive spot and bacterial disease. The plant has a mixed flowering type and begins fruiting on average 45-67 days after germination. Due to its resilience and high-quality characteristics, this variety is considered one of the best for cultivation in open ground and under temporary plastic coverings.

For successful cultivation of Nizhinsky 12, it is recommended to use medium-loamy, well-aerated soils with good moisture retention. Suitable predecessors for planting include potatoes, onions, cabbage, and peppers. Seeds are sown into soil heated to 14-15 degrees Celsius at a depth of 2-3 cm or seedlings are grown at a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, then lowered to 15 degrees Celsius after germination. Care for the plants includes regular watering with warm water after sunset, weeding, loosening, and 2-3 feedings with complex mineral fertilizers to ensure proper nutrition. Harvesting is done as the green cucumbers ripen, allowing for high-quality fruits suitable for fresh consumption and preservation.
