Cotton Pidozerskyi 4

A Breeding Milestone for Steppe Agriculture

The 'Pidozerskyi 4' cotton variety represents a significant achievement in Ukrainian agricultural science, officially registered in 2007. Developed by the Institute of Climate-Oriented Agriculture of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, this variety was specifically engineered to thrive in the Steppe climatic zone, where adaptability to temperature fluctuations and moisture levels is paramount.

Agrobiological Profile

Classified as Gossypium hirsutum L., 'Pidozerskyi 4' is designed for industrial-scale production. Its standout feature is its very early maturity: 50% of the plants open their bolls in a tight timeframe, significantly reducing risks associated with late-season weather instability.

• Morphology: The plant exhibits a conical shape with moderate height and foliage. The leaves are lobed and small, ensuring optimal airflow within the canopy.
• Fiber Quality: The variety produces high-strength white fiber of medium length and fineness, meeting the requirements for industrial textile processing.
• Yield Potential: With a medium fiber content per boll and stable seed weight, it provides a consistent and reliable output for commercial growers.

Due to its genetic resilience and early development cycle, 'Pidozerskyi 4' remains a preferred choice for farmers in the Steppe region looking for predictable results in natural textile raw material production.
