Hybrid maize ZPTC 256 is characterized by high resistance to weed infestation, as confirmed by long-term research. During a two-year trial (1996–1997), it was established that planting density directly affects the number of weeds in the crop. At dense planting without gaps, the average weed count was 82 plants per square meter, whereas increasing gaps to 45% raised the weed count to 109 plants per square meter, indicating a significant influence of planting density on field cleanliness.
