Stable Silage: Working with LIMNOT 21 X LIMIVT 44

When it comes to building a robust feed base for livestock, choosing the right seed stock from Limagrain is a strategic decision. The French-bred hybrid «LIMNOT 21 X LIMIVT 44» is designed for farmers who prioritize yield predictability in the field and high energy density in the barn.

Field Performance

For an agronomist, working with this hybrid is straightforward: its average maturity period allows for optimized harvest planning, avoiding bottlenecks in the season. French genetics traditionally ensure high crop uniformity. This makes combine harvester setup much easier: predictable plant development ensures an even load on the machine, reducing the risk of header blockages and allowing for a steady operating speed.

Feed Quality

The primary asset of this hybrid is its utility as high-quality animal feed. The yellow-orange grain provides excellent nutritional content that remains stable even during long-term storage in silage pits. Equipment operators note that the chopped mass has an ideal structure, which is critical for efficient compaction. Proper compaction directly impacts fermentation quality, preventing nutrient losses and mould formation.

• Optimal balance between vegetative mass and grain content.
• High feed digestibility, directly impacting milk yield.
• Excellent standability, which is vital during autumn wind and rain events.

Managing this hybrid requires no specialized agronomic practices; a standard protection and fertilizer program is sufficient to unlock its full potential. For a farm owner, «LIMNOT 21 X LIMIVT 44» is a tool for reducing the cost per feed unit through reliability and consistent yields.
