Maize LIMBHX 968

French Breeding for the Fresh Market

LIMBBH 968 is a specialized maize hybrid from the global leader Limagrain, developed for those who prioritize the taste profile of the final product. Unlike standard grain lines, this hybrid is focused exclusively on the fresh consumption segment, which imposes high demands on grain organoleptics.

The hybrid’s heritage is firmly rooted in the European breeding school (France, Italy), which emphasizes maximizing sugar content and maintaining a tender endosperm texture. Originators include key divisions of Limagrain and Emilseme S.P.A., ensuring high genetic potential and performance stability under intensive farming conditions.

Agronomic Profile and Key Features

• Maturity: A mid-season group that allows for efficient scheduling of harvest and supply to fresh produce markets.
• Grain Type: A yellow-orange color, traditionally prized by consumers for its visual appeal and high carotenoid content.
• Application: The hybrid is intended for fresh consumption, whether sold through retail chains or supplied to the HoReCa sector.

Choosing LIMBBH 968 is driven by its reputation as a 'culinary' variety. Within Limagrain's value chain, this hybrid occupies a niche as a premium product for the end consumer. Farmers appreciate it for its predictable field behavior, while buyers value the uniformity of the cobs, which is critical for pre-sale preparation. It is the choice of professionals working in the vegetable corn niche, where every percentage of sugar and grain density directly impacts business margins.
