Hybrid corn Laureen (FAO 260) is a mid-season variety suitable for cultivation as grain or silage. It demonstrates high adaptability to various agronomic practices, including traditional methods and No-Till technology, allowing its use in different climatic zones of Ukraine, such as Polissia, Northern and Central Forest-Steppe. Laureen is characterized by high water shedding, good cold resistance, and moderate drought tolerance, ensuring a stable and high yield with minimal crop care.
The hybrid possesses comprehensive resistance to major corn diseases, enabling the elimination of standard crop rotation and reducing costs for plant protection. High thousand-grain weight and a silica-type kernel with starch content up to 76.2% make Laureen a profitable choice for producing high-quality raw material. The potential yield of the hybrid reaches 150-160 centners per hectare, and the yield of 100% ethanol from 100 kg of dry grain may reach up to 40%, expanding its application possibilities.
For optimal cultivation, it is recommended to follow specific planting densities: in dry regions – 65,000–70,000 plants per hectare, in moderately humid regions – 75,000–85,000 plants per hectare. Sowing can begin when soil temperature reaches +9 degrees. Hybrid Laureen is suitable for use as a monoculture and requires adherence to harvest timing to achieve maximum efficiency. Seed batches are supplied from a single planting unit, each containing 80,000 seeds, with delivery options including Nova Poshta or self-pickup from the warehouse.
