Maize Koenixx / Konikks

French breeding expertise for high grain yield

The Konikks maize hybrid from R2N is the result of dedicated selection work by French experts at RAGT 2n. At the core of its development are genetic solutions engineered by Bruno Lefevre, specifically aimed at maximizing grain productivity. The hybrid is strictly specialized for high-intensity grain production systems.

Technical profile and grain morphology

The physical properties of Konikks grain define its commercial value. The yellow-orange color indicates a high concentration of carotenoids and a balanced starch content, which is essential for feed processing applications. The shape and density of the kernels ensure high milling yields during industrial processing.

• Hybrid Type: An original development by RAGT 2n, adapted to European grain production standards.
• Usage: Focused on grain production. The hybrid demonstrates excellent threshability, minimizing losses during harvesting operations.
• Genetic Potential: Technological solutions implemented by the originators aim to unlock maximum yield potential under moderate and warm climate conditions.

The practical application of Konikks is justified for farms prioritizing hectare profitability. The stability of this hybrid is rooted in the high-quality selection of maternal and paternal lines, ensuring crop uniformity and even maturation across the field. Utilizing Konikks allows agronomists to accurately forecast commodity grain volumes based on vegetation intensity metrics and the hybrid's responsiveness to mineral fertilization.
