Maize Igoryev 290 SV

Field Performance of Ihoriv 290 SV

When selecting a hybrid for commercial production, stability is the primary indicator of value. The Ihoriv 290 SV three-way cross hybrid from AF Kolos is designed for farmers who prioritize consistent results regardless of the season. In practice, this hybrid acts as a reliable performer, capable of delivering a predictable harvest even under variable agricultural conditions.

Technical Specifications and Usage

The dent-type grain is not just a catalog description—in the field and at the elevator, it shows good test weight and low breakage rates during harvest. With an FAO rating of 290, this hybrid is perfectly suited for producing high-quality grain with efficient moisture dry-down, as well as being highly effective for silage production.

• Versatility: Ihoriv 290 SV is equally well-suited for grain production or high-quality silage, providing flexibility in livestock and commodity markets.
• Hybrid Vigor: The three-way breeding scheme delivers robust plant health, allowing the crop to handle environmental stressors throughout the growing season.
• Harvest Efficiency: The stalks remain strong through maturity, which reduces lodging, makes mechanical harvesting easier for the operator, and minimizes field losses.

Managing this crop does not require specialized techniques or exotic chemistry. A standard protection program is sufficient, and the hybrid's responsiveness to micronutrient applications allows for precise field management. For the operator, this means a predictable schedule and fewer surprises during the critical stages of the crop cycle.
