Corn is one of the key agricultural crops, widely used in the agricultural sector. In Ukraine, it occupies a significant share of sown areas, accounting for about 30% of the total sown area. When selecting corn seeds, an important criterion is the maturity group, which is determined by the international FAO classification. This classification divides hybrids into 9 classes, rated from 100 to 900 points, where each point corresponds to a difference of 0.1% dry matter content in ears.
The maturity group of corn hybrids allows farmers to orient themselves regarding the ripening time and quality of the harvest. A difference of 10 FAO points means a difference of 1-2 days in ripening or 1-2% dry matter content under identical storage conditions. This helps to optimally plan agronomic activities and select hybrids most suitable for specific climatic conditions and harvest times.
Thus, the hybrid HYD 3780 belongs to a certain maturity group, ensuring its adaptation to regional growing conditions and enabling the production of a high-quality harvest with optimal dry matter content. Using such seeds contributes to improving production efficiency and the stability of the agricultural business.
