The GS 380 corn hybrid is a mid-season trihybrid variety with a vegetation period of approximately 110 days. The plant is tall with wide leaves and a long cylindrical ear of medium thickness. The kernels are dent-shaped, with the upper part yellow and the lower part yellow-orange. A distinctive feature is the strong anthocyanin pigmentation of the ear stalk, as well as weak or absent pigmentation of the silk and roots at the stem. The tassels are of medium density, and the ear stalk is of medium height with curved, long lateral branches. GS 380 has a medium grain yield of approximately 63.5 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 89.7 centners per hectare, and a grain moisture content at harvest of approximately 19.3%. The hybrid exhibits good disease resistance, particularly being weakly affected by bacterial ear rot and Fusarium ear rot, and moderately damaged by the stalk borer. Due to its high water shedding capacity and resistance to lodging, GS 380 is suitable for late harvest and cultivation under varying moisture conditions. The recommended planting density before harvest is 60-65 thousand plants per hectare under sufficient moisture and 55-60 thousand under limited moisture. The hybrid was selected by Swiss companies such as Syngenta, DEKALB, and Limagrain, ensuring high seed quality and stable yields. GS 380 is versatile and suitable for producing grain, silage, and meal. This hybrid combines high productivity, adaptability to climatic conditions, and resistance to pests, making it a profitable choice for agricultural production.
