The Amber chumiza variety is a grain fodder option with high drought resistance and resistance to lodging and shattering. Plants reach a height of 112 to 139 cm, the bush is dense, the stem is of medium thickness, strong and hollow. The leaves are narrow, green with an anthocyan tint, and the ear is spindle-shaped yellow with a brownish tone. The grain is egg-shaped, medium size, and the weight of 1000 grains is 3.5 to 4.0 g.
The variety's vegetative period lasts 119–137 days, and the yield is about 19.6 centners per hectare. In this case, the grain yield reaches 1.8–2.1 t/ha, and the crude protein content is in the range of 13.6–15.5%. These indicators make AMBER suitable both for feeding large livestock and for use as supplemental feed when raising birds.
Amber chumiza is especially valued for its rich composition: carotene, fiber, B vitamins (B1, B2), calcium, potassium, sulfur, magnesium, silicon, and phosphorus. Due to the high content of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, it has high energy value, which makes it useful as additional nutrition for birds, as well as an effective reward when taming and raising small decorative breeds.
