Wild cabbage Discover F1

Field Performance and Storage Reliability

When you choose 'Discover F1' from Bejo, you are investing in predictable, high-quality production. This hybrid is designed for growers who prioritize long-term storage without compromising marketability. Even after several months in storage, the heads maintain their density and characteristic grey-green color. With a head weight ranging from 3.0 to 7.0 kg, it provides excellent flexibility, catering to both supermarket retail standards and processing industry needs.

Agronomic Management

To achieve the best results, maintain a planting density of 30,000 to 35,000 plants per hectare. This spacing is optimal for ensuring head size uniformity and proper airflow, which is critical for plant health. With a maturity cycle of 130–140 days, this hybrid requires consistent crop protection. However, the standout feature of Discover F1 is its robust resistance to Fusarium yellows (Fusarium oxysporum). It acts as a shield against one of the most problematic soil-borne diseases, securing your yields even under high infection pressure.

Storage and Profitability

The true value of Discover F1 is revealed during the storage season. With a shelf life of 3 to 6 months, it significantly extends your sales window. The tight foliage wrap protects the head effectively, reducing mechanical damage during harvest and transit. For processing plants, the high yield after trimming makes it a cost-efficient choice. Bejo’s genetics deliver here where it matters most: in the balance between rigorous field performance and final market profit.
