Birdsfoot trefoil Luch

Working with Luytch birdsfoot trefoil

For those managing perennial forage crops, the 'Luytch' variety serves as a reliable asset for establishing long-term pastures. Developed by the V.R. Williams All-Russian Research Institute of Forage, this variety is characterized by excellent establishment rates, which simplifies the initial stages of field management. During active operation, the crop demonstrates high resistance to intensive grazing, allowing for continuous use without the risk of thinning out.

Productivity and nutritional profile

The primary advantage of this variety is its consistent protein content in dry matter, ranging from 18% to 20%. For an operator, this translates into a predictable livestock ration without the need for constant dietary supplements. The crop is highly versatile in its application:

• Grazing: Rapid regrowth after grazing cycles allows for efficient rotational management.
• Hay production: The variety provides stable cuts with a high concentration of essential nutrients.
• Green fodder: High palatability makes it an ideal option for direct feeding during critical growth stages.

The maintenance of 'Luytch' fields does not require complex or specialized agronomic techniques, which helps in optimizing the cost per ton of forage. It is a proven choice for creating a stable feed base, maintaining high protein levels throughout the entire vegetation cycle.
