Lazurite is a systemic herbicide based on metribuzin (700 g/kg), used both pre- and post-emergence for the control of annual broadleaf and grassy weeds. The product is mainly absorbed by the roots but can penetrate through leaves, inhibiting the growth of seedlings in the soil and delaying the emergence of the second wave of weeds. Effectiveness appears within 10–20 days after application, and the period of protective action ranges from one to two months, depending on weather conditions and field cultivation level.
The application range of Lazurite covers a wide spectrum of crops: potatoes, tomatoes, soy, corn, chickpeas, lupine, purple coneflower. Usage rates vary from 0.5 to 1.4 kg/ha depending on the crop and growth stage. Working solution should be prepared immediately before application; water pH should be 6–7. The product is compatible with most pesticides, except strongly alkaline and strongly acidic agents.
When working with Lazurite, safety precautions must be observed: the product belongs to class III of danger and requires the use of personal protective equipment; storage near food products and compound feeds is not allowed. After application, avoid heavy watering and limit access to treated areas for three days. Lazurite is safe for mammals, birds, earthworms, and soil microorganisms; however, if it enters the human body, immediate rinsing and application of activated charcoal are required. The product is not recommended for use in arid conditions with grain crops in autumn and in the spring season for sensitive crops such as sugar beet, sunflower, legumes, and vegetable crops.
