EMPEROR'S KIMONO

EMPEROR'S KIMONO is an annual plant from the aster family, belonging to the species Eschscholzia californica. The plant reaches a height of approximately 50 cm, with bushes having an oval shape and a sprawling appearance. The leaves are triple dissected, glaucous-green, which gives the plant a characteristic decorative look.

The flowers of this eschscholzia are bowl-shaped, about 5x3 cm in size, with bright yellow-orange petals. The main color is yellow, and the petals are shiny and slightly ruffled, making the flower particularly attractive to gardeners. Blooming begins 50 days after sowing and continues for 100–110 days, usually from June to September.

EMPEROR'S KIMONO prefers light areas, bright lighting, and fertilized, drained soils. Recommended for decorating flower beds, balconies, and as cut flowers. Seeds are sown in March–April at a depth of 1–1.5 cm, observing a sowing scheme of 20x30 cm. After seedlings appear, the plant requires regular watering and feeding with mineral fertilizers every 2–3 weeks.

This is a species of decorative eschscholzia that is easily propagated by self-seeding and quickly fills space, creating a bright and picturesque color cover.
