Phytoseiid mites
Taxonomically, they belong to the order Mesostigmata. These predators are specialized to feed on spider mites (Tetranychidae), thrips, and other soft-bodied arthropods that typically damage vegetable, fruit, and ornamental crops.
The life cycle of a phytoseiid mite comprises an egg, larva, two nymphal stages (protonymph and deutonymph), and an adult. Their rapid development and voracious appetite allow them to suppress pest outbreaks before significant economic damage occurs to the host plants.
