The short-winged slant-faced grasshopper (Stenobothrus vittifrons) belongs to the order Orthoptera and the family Acrididae. It is a small insect characterized by its abbreviated wings, which typically do not reach the tip of the abdomen, giving it a compact appearance.

The coloration of the adults varies from greenish-yellow to brownish, providing excellent camouflage within their natural grassland habitats. The head is conical, and the pronotum features a distinct pattern used by entomologists for accurate species identification.
