Biology and life cycle. The life cycle of Apodidae is strictly synchronized with the phenology of their host plants. Females lay eggs directly into the plant tissue or into the soil near the host roots. Larvae develop internally or within protected microenvironments, feeding on plant juices or soft tissues.
