The conidia (spores) are typically small, hyaline, and curved or cylindrical. The discharge of these spores from the pycnidia is a critical stage in the pathogen's lifecycle and dispersal.

Systematically, it is often associated with the complex of leaf spot diseases in small grains, thriving in temperate climates where moisture levels remain high during the growing season.

What it damages
