The BISON zucchini is an early-maturing and high-yielding plant that features a compact bush or semi-vining growth habit. The fruits are cylindrical with a strongly ribbed surface, bright green color with white speckles and spots, reaching up to 40 cm in length and weighing from 0.7 to 1.2 kg. The fruit flesh is white-yellow, juicy, and has a good taste, making this variety universal for fresh consumption, culinary processing, and canning.
For growing the BISON variety, it is recommended to use light, fertile soils with a low groundwater level and a deep plough layer. The best predecessors for planting are early vegetables such as onions, root crops, tomatoes, and potatoes. Sowing seeds is carried out at the end of April to early June, depending on the cultivation method: for seedlings or directly into the ground after the spring frosts have passed. The distance between plants should be about 60 cm, with 1 plant per square meter. After seedlings emerge, weak plants are removed to ensure optimal development.
Care for the zucchini includes regular watering, soil loosening, weeding, and hilling, as well as top dressing with complex mineral fertilizers, especially during flowering and fruiting. The optimal temperature for growth is 20-25 degrees Celsius. Harvesting is conducted 1-2 times a week when the fruits reach a length of 15-20 cm. The yield of the variety varies from 4.1 to 10.8 kg per square meter, making it attractive for growing in both personal and commercial enterprises.
