Emerald

The 'Emerald' barley variety is a mid-season spring barley intended for grain-forage use. It is characterized by a 1000-grain weight within the range of 34-45 grams and contains protein ranging from 11.2% to 14.1%. The plant has an intermediate bush type with semi-prostrate growth. The variety has moderate resistance to helminthosporiosis, but is susceptible to root rots and powdery scab, which requires attention during cultivation.



«Emerald» is distinguished by high and stable yields, confirmed by multi-year trials in Europe and Ukraine. The hybrid possesses a powerful genetic potential, including resistance to turnip yellowing virus (TuYV), which manifests as a dark green leaf color even after overwintering and minimal loss of leaf apparatus. Healthy formation of above-ground mass and a strong root system in autumn contribute to successful crop laying, even under drought conditions. Furthermore, the variety demonstrates field tolerance to diseases such as verticillium wilt, cylindrosporiosis, and fusarium.



The 'Emerald' variety is also relevant for use in the food industry, particularly in the production of beverages, as confirmed by studies in specialized laboratories. Its application is particularly important under conditions of import substitution, making it a demanded and promising product for the agricultural sector.
