Triticale variety Obereg Kharkivskiy is medium-early and was registered in 2009. This variety was developed at the Institute of Plant Physiology named after V.Ya. Yuryev of the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences and is recommended for cultivation in the Polissya and Forest-Steppe zones. It is characterized by high yield and good adaptation to the climatic conditions of these regions.
Plants reach a height of 94 to 101 cm and exhibit high resistance to lodging and shattering, rated at 8-9 points, as well as drought resistance rated at 7-8 points. The average yield of the variety over test years was 32.6 c/ha in the Forest-Steppe zone and 38.6 c/ha in the Polissya zone. The triticale grain contains 13.3 to 13.6% protein, indicating its high quality.
