Tomato VIVA ROSITA

Practical Application of 'Viva Rosita' Tomatoes

Developed by breeders Vasily Blokin-Mechtalin and Konstantin Kulikov, the 'Viva Rosita' tomato is engineered for producers focused on early-market yield. This variety is an ideal choice for operations looking to supply high-quality pink tomatoes early in the growing season. It performs consistently in both protected structures (poly-tunnels) and open-field systems provided that standard staking and trellis management are applied.

Agricultural Implementation & Objectives

• Optimizing Harvest Windows: This variety is favored by farmers targeting the early-season market. The rapid development from germination to harvest allows producers to capture market peaks before main-season supply floods the trade channels.
• Marketable Consistency: Fruits are uniform in size and color, which streamlines post-harvest grading and packaging. The fruit maintains excellent firmness, a critical factor for reducing spoilage during transportation to retail markets.
• Vegetative Management: Due to the balanced growth habit of the plant, agronomists report predictable responses to standard nutrient programs. This reduces the risk of nitrogen-driven excessive foliage and allows the plant to redirect metabolic energy toward fruit filling.

This variety is highly suitable for intensive commercial operations that prioritize high pack-out rates without excessive labor demands regarding complex pruning. 'Viva Rosita' is effectively used in staggered planting schedules, enabling farmers to establish a continuous supply chain throughout the production window.
