Tomato TONOPA

Field Performance: The Reliability of Tonopa by Bejo

In large-scale tomato production, consistency is everything. The Tonopa hybrid from the Dutch breeder Bejo Zaden B.V. is a reliable workhorse. This determinate tomato consistently delivers impressive yields—ranging from 70 to 100 tons per hectare—making it a top choice for commercial growers who value predictability.

Disease Resistance and Maintenance

One of the biggest advantages of working with Tonopa is its robust genetic immunity. Dealing with soil-borne pathogens is a constant struggle, but this hybrid shows excellent resistance to both Verticillium wilt and Fusarium. This resistance significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications, which helps keep production costs in check and simplifies the overall crop management schedule.

Harvest and Market Quality

With a maturation cycle of 90-100 days, planning the harvest window is straightforward. The fruit, weighing between 150 and 200 grams, features a consistent flat-round shape and a vibrant red color. The fruits are firm and hold up exceptionally well during transport, ensuring they reach supermarket shelves without bruising or cracking, which is a major benefit for maintaining high-end retail quality.

• Type: Determinate, high-yielding hybrid.
• Fruit Quality: 150-200g, flat-round, excellent firmness.
• Health: Strong resistance to Verticillium and Fusarium.
• Production: High yield potential (70-100 tons/ha).

If you are looking for a professional-grade hybrid that balances heavy production with low-maintenance durability, the seeds from Bejo are a proven, solid investment.
