Description LOW-GROWING MAMONTENOK
Tomato Mamontenok is a low-growing determinate variety specifically developed for cultivation in Siberian conditions. The plants are compact, reaching 60-80 cm in open ground and up to 1.2 m in greenhouses. The plant stops growing after forming six fruiting clusters, which simplifies care and allows control over plant development. The variety is characterized by early ripening, with a period from germination to harvest of approximately 110-115 days, making it attractive for gardeners seeking to harvest in a short season. The fruits of Tomato Mamontenok have a classic round shape and red color with a strong aroma and harmonious flavor. Fruit weight varies depending on growing conditions: in open ground, they reach 120-170 g, while in greenhouses they can be significantly larger. Tomatoes have universal use — they are used for making salads, canning, pickling, drying, freezing, as well as for sauces and juices. The fruits feature a sugary flesh and low seed content, making them especially suitable for children's nutrition. The Mamontenok variety is characterized by good yield — up to 15 kg of fruit can be harvested from one plant, and 10-14 kg per square meter. Plants are resistant to phytophthora, significantly simplifying care and reducing the risk of crop loss. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to plant 3-4 plants per square meter, train plants into 2-3 stems, regularly fertilize with organic and phosphorus-potassium fertilizers, and loosen and mulch the soil. Due to the large fruit size, plants require staking, which can be adjusted as the tomatoes ripen. Tomato Mamontenok responds well to feeding and is suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouses.
