Belcanto F1

F1 Hybrid Belcanto — indeterminate hybrid. Recommended for winter-spring and summer-autumn cropping cycles. The hybrid exhibits a generative plant development type, while it does not experience a sharp decline in vegetative processes in the upper part of the main stem, as is often the case with F1 hybrid Evpatori. The stem tip remains strong at all times. The generative development type eliminates 'hanging' of plants when grown on soil. The first flower bud forms above the 9th-11th leaf, subsequent ones every 3 leaves. Internodes of medium length (7-10 cm), leaves of medium size, slightly raised, weakly lobed, dark green. The plant habit is open and compact, so fruit clusters are well-lit. The cluster is compact, short, non-branched, sessile, which prevents flower bending during fruit ripening. The inflorescence forms 4-6 normally developed, nearly equal-sized fruits. Average fruit mass is 130-150 g. Fruits are flat-round in shape (index 0.7-0.8), smooth, 4-5-chambered. Fruit color at the beginning of ripening is uniformly light green, turning bright red upon ripening. Fruits are very attractive in appearance with good taste qualities. F1 Belcanto does not contain the rin gene in its genotype, responsible for fruit softness, yet its fruits are sufficiently firm and suitable for short-term storage. The hybrid is not affected by blossom-end rot, genetically resistant to tobacco mosaic virus, cladosporiasis, fusarium, and gall nematodes. It exhibits high fruit set under adverse growing conditions.
