SAVAGE — a medium-maturing sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) hybrid, intended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region. It is characterized by medium plant height at maturity, green leaf color, and yellow disc flowers. A distinctive feature of the hybrid is strongly expressed marginal stripes on the seeds, giving them a recognizable appearance. The vegetation period is 118 days, ensuring optimal timing for harvest formation under regional conditions.
The SAVAGE hybrid exhibits high yield — average yield is 22.6 centners per hectare, with maximum yield reaching 45.6 centners per hectare. The 1000-seed mass equals 52.5 grams, indicating large seed size. Oil content in the seeds reaches 44.5%, ensuring high oil productivity. Oil yield during cultivation can reach 10.1 centners per hectare, making it profitable for oil production.
The hybrid is a two-line variety and lacks branching, which promotes uniform plant development and simplifies agronomic practices. SAVAGE is resistant to downy mildew (up to 7+ races, A-G) and tolerant to the herbicide Granstar, withstanding doses up to 50 g/ha. High germination energy (97%) and germination rate (98%), along with low moisture content (7.9%), ensure excellent seed quality. Due to these characteristics, the hybrid is recommended for cultivation in various sunflower-growing zones.
