Sunflower FFAE 2017 is an early-maturing hybrid designed for cultivation throughout Russia. This hybrid is characterized by medium plant height, absence of branching, and green leaf coloration. Its flowering period is average, and the ray flowers are yellow. The seeds have weakly expressed marginal and internal stripes, which is a distinctive feature of this variety. FFAE 2017 is included in the State Register of Selection Achievements and is recommended for wide application in the agricultural sector.
The hybrid exhibits high yield and resistance to major diseases, particularly tolerance to sunflower moth infestation at level 7+. The seed maturation period is 90-95 days, enabling effective planning of agronomic operations. For successful cultivation, moderate moisture and optimal seeding density — 45-50 thousand plants per hectare — are required. Additionally, FFAE 2017 tolerates the herbicide Granstar, facilitating weed control and promoting healthy stands.
Sunflower is one of the key oilseed crops, widely used for producing edible and technical oils. Processing by-products contain significant amounts of protein, making them valuable animal feed. Selection of a hybrid such as FFAE 2017 depends on climatic conditions, soil quality, and processing technologies. To ensure healthy seedlings, seeds are treated with fungicides, and yield is directly linked to proper seeding density, planting timing, and drought resistance.
