The RGT SALSA soybean variety is an early-maturing hybrid with a vegetation period of 100 to 118 days and a sum of effective temperatures (CHU) of about 2400. This variety was included in the state register in 2021 and is recommended for cultivation in Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polесьe zones. RGT SALSA features medium plant height ranging from 70.7 to 94.7 cm, with the lower pod attachment height at 11-12 cm, which facilitates harvesting and reduces yield losses.
One of the key features of this variety is its high resistance to various diseases and stress factors. RGT SALSA demonstrates high tolerance to sclerotinia, as well as resistance to wilting, lodging, drought, downy mildew, ascochitosis, bacterial blight, septoria, and fusarium, ensuring stable yields under varying climatic conditions. The recommended seeding rate is 650 thousand seeds per hectare.
The hybrid has high protein content in the seeds — from 39.1 to 44%, as well as high oil content — 20-22.2%. The thousand-grain weight is 200-220 grams, indicating seed size and quality. Flower color is purple, pubescence is brown, and the seed hilum is yellow. RGT SALSA is primarily used for grain production and crop rotations, offering high yield potential: up to 70.7 kg/m² in Steppe, 94.7 kg/m² in Forest-Steppe, and 87.1 kg/m² in Polесьe.
