Horizon

Soybean variety Horizon is a medium-maturing grain hybrid with a vegetation period of 105–110 days, developed by the Canadian company HYLAND SEEDS. This variety is distinguished by high yield, reaching 30.1 centners per hectare in the forest-steppe zone and 21.7 centners per hectare in the Polissia region. The oil content in the seeds is 24.0%, and protein content is 36.2%. The attachment height of the lower pod on plants of the Horizon variety is 13.9 cm, and the thousand-seed weight is 171.7 g. The variety is resistant to lodging, shattering, drought, and disease, ensuring stable yields under various climatic conditions. Horizon exhibits enhanced adaptability to external conditions and comprehensive resistance to diseases and pests. Since 2004, it has been included in the State Register of Plant Varieties. In trials conducted by the Institute of Plant Breeding named after V.Ya. Yur’ev from 1999 to 2001, the variety showed grain yield 0.34 tons per hectare higher than the standard Kievskaya 27, with an overall yield of 2.34 tons per hectare, confirming its high productivity and reliability for agricultural production. To enhance soil biological health and promote the growth of soybean variety Horizon, the use of biocomplex AT is recommended, which includes inoculant and microelements. Nitrogen-fixing bacteria developing in the root zone enrich the soil with biological nitrogen, reducing the negative effects of nitrates from prolonged use of chemical fertilizers. Microelements contribute to increasing seed germination energy, active root system development, and ensure early, uniform emergence, which supports successful crop cultivation.
