MS 12

MS 12 — an ultra-early hybrid of grain-type sweet corn with high yield potential, reaching up to 140 centners per hectare. This hybrid is characterized by good cold tolerance, allowing successful cultivation at early planting dates. Plants demonstrate rapid early growth and active early development, while a strong root system ensures reliable anchorage and resilience to adverse conditions.

MS 12 plants reach a height of approximately 220 cm, with the ear positioned at 90 cm. The ear shape is close to cylindrical or conical, with high ear attachment strength, reducing losses during harvesting. The ear develops 12 to 16 rows of dent kernels with yellow coloration, averaging 220 to 280 grams per thousand kernels. Grain yield is 82–85%, and the kernels exhibit high drying intensity after physiological maturity, facilitating technological processing and storage.

The hybrid shows high resistance to bacterial wilt and lodging, as well as good drought and heat tolerance, making it adaptable to various climatic conditions, including the Southern and Northern Steppes, Forest-Steppe, and Polesie regions. Recommended plant density varies by region and ranges from 35,000 to 75,000 plants per hectare. MS 12 is suitable for silage and starch purposes, and it features high harvest efficiency and storability of ears.
