Challenger F1

Challenger F1 is a mid-early hybrid sweet corn of super-sweet type, maturing in approximately 77-80 days after planting. Plants reach a height of about two meters and are characterized by strong growth and resistance to lodging. Ears measuring 20-22 cm in length and about 5.2 cm in diameter have 16-18 rows of yellow kernels with tender husks and small kernel size. The mass of the conditioned ear is approximately 248 grams, with ear position on the plant at about 68 cm. Thanks to these characteristics, the hybrid ensures high quality and uniformity of the harvest.

The hybrid exhibits good resistance to a range of diseases, including bacterial ear rot, anthracnose, brown rust, leaf helminthosporiosis, and helminthosporiosis of ears, stems, and leaves. It also shows relative resistance to smut. This disease tolerance contributes to stable and high yields even under adverse conditions.

Challenger F1 is ideally suited for fresh consumption as well as processing, including freezing and canning. The hybrid features exceptional taste and outstanding flavor qualities in canned and processed products. The recommended planting density is 50-55 thousand plants per hectare, ensuring optimal development and maximum productivity of the crop.
