KRASNOSELSKAYA – a mid-early turnip variety, distinguished by high cold hardiness and rapid growth. Seeds germinate at temperatures of 2–3 °C, and seedlings can withstand frosts down to 1–2 °C, allowing sowing in April both directly and via seedlings. When using seedlings, they are transplanted on May 10–15, ensuring a harvest 25–30 days earlier compared to the traditional method.
Harvest is collected before the onset of frosts. The root crop has a flat shape and is planted in the soil approximately one third to one quarter deep. The underground part of the root is bright yellow, while the head is greyish-green with a purple-red hue. The mass of one fruit is 400–650 grams, the flesh is intensely yellow, firm, and sweet, making the product attractive both fresh and after processing.
The variety demonstrates a yield of 2.8 to 6.5 kg/m², is resistant to bolting, and has high storage ability. Thanks to these characteristics, KRASNOSELSKAYA is suitable for both home consumption and industrial processing, ensuring a stable and quality product throughout the season.
