UKRAINE CHAMPION

Rapeseed variety "Ukraine Champion" is an original variety developed by the Institute of Agriculture of the NAS of Ukraine and registered in the State Register of Cultivated Plants of Ukraine since 2002. This winter rapeseed is intended for the production of high-quality vegetable oil and meal, as well as for biodiesel production. The variety is characterized by a long growing season — from 272 to 280 days, plant height of about 165 cm, and high oil content in seeds reaching 46.1–51%. At the same time, the glucosinolate content in the oil does not exceed 17–21 micromol/g, and the level of erucic acid is minimal or absent, making the oil safe and beneficial for consumption. "Ukraine Champion" demonstrates high yield, which under real conditions amounts to 33–39 centners/ha and can potentially reach up to 6.0 t/ha. The variety is resistant to shattering and lodging, confirmed by an assessment of 8 points for the corresponding indicators. In addition, it has good winter hardiness and resistance to drought, bacterial blight, seed rotting and cracking, which ensures stable cultivation in various climatic conditions of the Polesye and Forest-steppe of Ukraine. Average resistance to diseases and pests is also rated at 8 points, which contributes to reducing yield losses and reducing plant protection costs. The "Ukraine Champion" variety is suitable for mechanized cultivation thanks to stable vegetative mass accumulation and optimal plant height. Its universality and adaptability make it one of the best options for agrarians seeking to obtain high-quality and stable rapeseed yield in various regions of Ukraine.
