Winter rapeseed PR45G73

Technical Potential of the PR45G73 Hybrid

The spring oilseed rape hybrid PR45G73 from Pioneer s.a. is a specialized selection designed for stable performance in intensive farming systems. The core advantage of this hybrid lies in its full adaptation to the Clearfield herbicide system, which streamlines weed management and reduces phytotoxic stress on the crop during its critical growth phases.

Morphology and Physiological Traits

The plant features a balanced growth habit, typically reaching a height of 100-110 cm. Its moderate branching profile facilitates optimal plant density and uniform pod maturation. As a simple linear hybrid, PR45G73 ensures field uniformity, which is a decisive factor in minimizing harvest losses and optimizing combine efficiency.

Protective Mechanisms and Yield

Pioneer’s breeding focus for this hybrid centers on strengthening intrinsic resistance to major pathogens and pests:

• Black leg: Genetic resistance provides a strong barrier against early-stage stand thinning.
• Turnip sawfly: The variety exhibits high tolerance, effectively reducing the need for intensive insecticide applications.

With an oil content ranging between 40-45%, the hybrid offers high value for the crushing industry. Its yield potential of 20-30 c/ha, combined with Clearfield technology, allows producers to maintain profitability even in fields with high weed pressure.
