Antaria buckwheat variety is a mid-season technological variety with a vegetation period of 85-87 days, characterized by high yield and excellent grain quality. Plants reach a height of up to 100 cm and have good leafiness. The fruits are light brown or brown with poorly developed wings, facilitating mechanized harvesting. The grain yield is 75-76%, and the grain uniformity reaches 88-90%. The grain contains about 16% protein, making it valuable for the food industry.
The Antaria variety exhibits high resistance to lodging and shattering, as well as resistance to diseases and pests, ensuring stable yields. Potential yield varies from 18.6 to 36.8 centners per hectare. The recommended seeding rate is 65-70 kg of seeds per hectare. Optimal sowing dates are from the end of April to the second decade of May, allowing successful cultivation of this variety in various climatic zones of Ukraine, including the Forest Steppe, Steppe, and Polissia.
The production and breeding of this variety are carried out by the company DP «Oranta» JSC NVMPP «Antaria», specializing in the creation of original, elite, and reproductive seed material for cereal, grain, oilseed, and grain legume crops. The company operates its own breeding and seed farm in the Zhytomyr region, ensuring high quality and reliability of Antaria seeds.
