Cucumber Lасточка — this is an early-maturing, bee-pollinated hybrid of cornichon type, intended for cultivation in open ground and under plastic coverings. The period from germination to the first harvest is 35 to 45 days, ensuring rapid maturity and enabling early harvest. The cucumbers have an oval-cylindrical shape, length from 8 to 12 cm, and weight from 80 to 130 g. The fruits are dark green with blurred light stripes, dense flesh, and a rounded-triangular cross-section. They do not yellow or become bitter for a long time, making them an excellent choice for fresh consumption, canning, and pickling.
The hybrid Lасточка is characterized by high yield, which can reach over 50 kg per square meter, significantly exceeding the yields of many popular varieties. The plant features extended fruiting and main stem length from 120 to 150 cm. The variety is resistant to major cucumber diseases, including cucumber mosaic virus, brown spot, and powdery mildew, and tolerates low temperatures well. Thanks to these qualities, Lасточка maintains high productivity even under adverse conditions, although yield may decrease during dry weather.
Developed at the Crimean Experimental Station, cucumber Lасточка has high regenerative capacity and disease resistance, simplifying care and increasing yield stability. The fruits store well and retain their flavor both fresh and after canning. This hybrid is versatile in application and suitable for both home cultivation and commercial production, ensuring high output and excellent fruit quality.
