YUSO o/d 31 is a variety of industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa L. ssp. sativa), developed and registered by the Institute of Hemp Cultures of the Ukrainian Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The variety was included in the State Register of Approved Varieties in 1987 and is recommended for cultivation in all regions, especially in the forest-steppe zone. The developers of this variety are the Institute of Hemp Cultures and the Joint-Stock Company "Southern" Agrofirm.
This variety is characterized by a defined seed productivity per plant. Research has shown that at a seeding rate of 1.2 million seeds per hectare, the average seed productivity of variety YUSO 31 is 38 seeds per plant. When the seeding rate is increased to 1.8 million seeds per hectare, the number of seeds per plant decreases by 25.4%, and at further increase to 2.4 million seeds per hectare — by 20.8%. These data indicate that seed productivity is dependent on the seeding rate.
Variety YUSO 31 is intended for seed and fiber production, making it in demand in the agricultural sector. Due to its adaptation to various climatic conditions, especially in the forest-steppe zone, it ensures a stable yield and is suitable for wide use in agriculture.
