Langesvyt Red

Langesvyt Red — this is a late variety of red cabbage with a vegetation period of 180-190 days, intended for cultivation in open ground. Heads have a round shape, dense structure, and average weight ranging from 2.5 to 3 kg, sometimes reaching up to 3 kg. Leaves are colored in shades from green-purple to red-purple with a characteristic silvery waxy coating, giving the cabbage an attractive appearance and high taste quality. This variety is distinguished by high yield and good transportability, allowing heads to maintain their market appearance for a long time and be suitable for long-term storage and consumption fresh.

Cultivation of Langesvyt Red cabbage can be done both by seedlings and direct sowing. Seeds are sown in rows at a depth of 2-3 cm with row spacing of 70 cm or in strips according to schemes 50x90 or 55x55x70 cm. The seeding rate is 1 g per square meter. After emergence, thinning is performed, leaving 60-70 cm between plants in rows. Seedlings are transplanted in April-May, and harvest occurs in September-October. The variety is well adapted to different climatic conditions and suitable for cultivation in various regions.

Langesvyt Red cabbage belongs to cold-resistant crops and poorly tolerates heat. Seeds begin to germinate at 2-3°C, although under such conditions, the germination period is significantly prolonged. Hardened seedlings can withstand frosts down to -5-7°C, while unhardened seedlings tolerate temperatures down to -2-3°C. These features make the variety resistant to adverse weather conditions and allow obtaining a stable yield even in cooler climates.
