Description Vertimek
Non-systemic insecticide-acaricide with gut and contact action, intended for protection of greenhouse cucumbers against spider mites and thrips, and protected soil flower crops against spider mites.

The preparation Vertimek — an insecticide used to protect plants (flower crops, fruit, vegetable, citrus, berry crops) from miners, mites, thrips, and other pests.

The main component of the preparation is abamectin, which penetrates into leaves and provides prolonged protection of plants against mites and other pests. Vertimek causes paralysis, inability to feed, and consequently, death of pests. The preparation acts both contactly and through the gut (mainly).

Does not cause resistance if manufacturer's recommendations for using the preparation are followed. To prevent the development of resistance when using Vertimek, the manufacturer recommends alternating its use with treatment with other preparations. Phytotoxicity does not occur if the preparation's instructions are followed.

Vertimek is applied upon the first detection of pests. If the pest population is insignificant, a single treatment is sufficient to protect the plant. A second treatment is carried out one week after the first, if necessary. A third — similarly. Spray thoroughly, ensuring that the leaves are fully wetted and the preparation does not run off onto the soil. The solution must be used within a few hours. After completing work with the preparation, wash the sprayer.

In indoor horticulture, Vertimek is used to combat thrips. Dosage of the preparation — 5 ml per 10 liters of water. Dosage for spraying against mites — 2.5-3 ml of Vertimek per 10 liters of water. Spray the plant and cover it with polyethylene film, which should be removed no earlier than 24 hours after application.

The preparation is a hazardous substance (has a 2nd class of hazard).

Vertimek is toxic to birds and highly toxic to fish, aquatic organisms, bees, and beneficial insects. Do not allow the preparation or its residues to enter water sources. Do not allow Vertimek to enter animal feed or food products.

Treat plants in the evening or morning in calm weather. Use gloves, respirator, protective clothing, and goggles. Do not eat, drink, or smoke while working with the preparation. After completing work, wash hands and face with soap, and rinse mouth.

Store the preparation in a dry place inaccessible to children and animals at temperatures from -15 to +30 degrees Celsius. Do not store with medicines or food products. Do not store the working solution. Do not mix Vertimek with other preparations when used in subsidiary farms. Do not dispose of empty containers; burn them where permitted. Do not allow fumes to enter the lungs. Do not use containers for other purposes.

Advantages:
— high efficiency in protecting plants against mites, thrips, and mining insects, effectiveness against mites resistant to other acaricides, excellent partner in resistance management programs
— minimal effect on beneficial insect fauna
— suppresses pests on both upper and lower leaf surfaces
— gut and contact mode of action
— translaminar activity — rapidly (within 2 hours fully) penetrates plant tissues
— long-lasting (up to 3 weeks) protective action allows reducing the number of treatments
— ensures obtaining high-quality plants
— well tolerated by plants
— allows harvesting 3 days after treatment
— does not leave spots on plants
