Description Torero
Two-component pre- and post-emergence herbicide for weed control on sugar beet crops
Formulation: concentrate suspension
Active ingredients: metamitron (350 g/l) + etofumesate (150 g/l)
MANUFACTURER: "Finkem GmbH", Germany
PACKAGING: 5 L canister
ADVANTAGES OF THE PREPARATION:
Torero, c.s. has a broad spectrum of action, allowing to eliminate weeds without using other herbicides
Torero, c.s. acts on weeds through leaves and soil, eliminating a wide range of weeds commonly appearing on sugar beet crops
Due to two different modes of action, Torero, c.s. eliminates even weeds resistant to conventional herbicides. Torero, c.s. eliminates such weeds as: water dock, creeping thistle, rough chickweed, mustard, daisies. Suitable for use on fields after winter rape
Due to high metamitron content, Torero, c.s. effectively prevents rape self-seeding. It also significantly reduces the number of grass weeds
Torero, c.s. contains two active ingredients with good soil activity. Thanks to their prolonged effect, the field remains clean until harvest.
Torero, c.s. is completely safe for sugar beet, as: contains only two necessary active ingredients; does not contain aggressive desmedifam; contains only safe adjuvants; water is the solvent
The absence of phytotoxic effects of the herbicide Torero, c.s. on sugar beet indicates high selectivity of the product. This allows spraying weeds at any time without damaging the beet
Safety and effectiveness of weed control contribute to a 2-fold increase in yield compared to untreated plantations and 25% compared to standard products
MECHANISM OF ACTION:
Universal mode of action
Contains substances acting through leaves and soil — metamitron is mainly absorbed by roots but also by leaves; etofumesate is absorbed by germinating seedlings and roots
This allows using the entire product. Both the liquid that lands on leaves and that on soil is effective
This feature is also beneficial if rain falls after spraying — the washed-off liquid continues to act in the soil
Torero, c.s. works well at low temperatures. Optimal application temperature is +10 °C, however etofumesate begins to act already at +2-7 °C, while metamitron — at +5-7 °C, i.e. at temperatures of germination of some weed species. Therefore, lowering the temperature does not delay the weed control process.
The preparation is compatible with many other herbicides used on sugar beet
Working solution dosage:
Use little water — 200-400 l/ha. Use the upper limit of water in dry conditions
APPLICATION:
Apply the preparation by soil spraying. First application of Torero, c.s. is conducted when most weed plants reach the cotyledon stage. Further applications are recommended when new weed waves appear. Maximum number of applications per season — 3. Not recommended for pre-emergence application on sandy soils. Avoid application when temperature exceeds 21 °C and under bright sunlight
The preparation is used against broadleaf and grass weeds.
TECHNOLOGY OF USING PREPARATIONS:
Torero AND CONTACTWIN + GOLTIX 700
Weed control:
Herbicides must act simultaneously through leaves and soil. Only in this way will weeds die both on the soil surface and those that have germinated in the following days. After three treatments, no re-infestation will occur. Thanks to soil action, the interval between spraying can be increased
Each spraying is equally important:
First spraying aims to kill as many weeds as possible, but should not inhibit or damage young sugar beet. Torero and Contactwin + Goltix are among the safest herbicides that fulfill these conditions. If weeds are few, the dose can be reduced
Second spraying aims to eliminate newly emerged weeds and those remaining from the previous spraying. We recommend using Torero and Contactwin + Goltix, guaranteeing high efficacy. Herbicide application can be limited to two sprays, and individual weeds can be hand-pulled
Third spraying must kill all weeds and leave on sugar beet crops a residual amount of active ingredients that prevents re-emergence of weeds. Apply standard doses of Torero and Contactwin + Goltix. These herbicides will keep the field clean until harvest.

Attention!
All preparations are recommended to be used on weeds in the cotyledon stage. In case of overgrown weeds, consult regional representatives of the company LLC "Summit-Agro Ukraine". Olemix 84, c.e. (mineral-oil emulsion) is used as an adjuvant under dry conditions, overgrown weeds, high weed density, etc. Use of Olemix 84, c.e. allows herbicides to be absorbed faster by weeds and provides reliable protection even under extreme conditions (drought)
Use of other adjuvants (surfactants, mineral oils) with Torero, c.s., Contactwin, c.e., Goltix 700, c.s. may result in unexpected (negative) outcomes on sugar beet crops. It is recommended to use 200-400 l of water for Torero, c.s. application, and 200-300 l of water for Contactwin, c.e., Goltix 700, c.s. application. Use the upper limit of water in dry conditions.
