Mechanism of action: a systemic approach

The core of the product's selectivity lies in the inhibition of the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme. Flumetsulam, with its pronounced systemic activity, rapidly penetrates leaves and roots, suppressing the growth of sensitive weeds within hours after application. Thifensulfuron-methyl complements this effect by acting as a potent inhibitor that halts cell division in meristems, inevitably leading to the death of weed vegetation.
