A solid start without weed competition

In field operations, the goal is to give the crop an advantage before the first weeds even sprout. «PANDA, KE» from the «Fabryka ahrokhimikativ» (Ukraine) has become a reliable tool for us in this regard. It is a systemic pre-emergence soil herbicide that works as a protective shield. Its core strength, pendimethalin, creates a barrier in the topsoil that effectively prevents the germination of most annual grasses and broad-leaved weeds.

Practical application and handling

The success with PANDA depends heavily on soil preparation. If the soil is cloddy, the protective layer becomes uneven, reducing its effectiveness. We apply it during pre-sowing cultivation or immediately after sowing, but before the crop emerges. The product is moisture-dependent, so it performs best when the soil is properly moist. A rate of 3–6 L/ha allows for flexibility depending on the weed pressure in the specific field.

• Target Crops: We use it successfully on onions, sunflowers, peas, and winter wheat.
• Selectivity: Being a selective herbicide, it leaves the primary crop untouched when applied at the correct rates and phases.
• Ease of Use: The emulsion concentrate is easy to handle; it mixes perfectly in the tank without clogging spray nozzles, which is a significant plus for maintenance.

For us, the main benefit is that a single application provides a clean field during the most critical growth stages. While it is classified as a Hazard Class 3 chemical, standard safety protocols are sufficient for safe handling. It is a predictable, workhorse product that lets us focus on the crop rather than weed control.
