Glésia

The Glésia hemp variety is one of the leaders among dioecious non-narcotic varieties in terms of seed yield. Plants of this variety form dense diamond-shaped inflorescences, ensuring high seed productivity of 1.5–2.0 tons per hectare with oil content ranging from 32 to 36%. Additionally, the variety is suitable for obtaining stalks and fiber, with potential biomass yields of 7.2–8.0 tons per hectare and fiber yields of 2.0–2.2 tons per hectare respectively. The vegetative period ranges from 88 to 120 days depending on climatic conditions, and the average plant height reaches approximately 255 cm at the end of the vegetative period.

Glésia belongs to high-yielding varieties, so to achieve maximum yield, it is necessary to strictly follow the recommended cultivation technologies. The variety has been registered in the State Register of Varieties Suitable for Distribution in Ukraine since 2016. An important feature is the absence of THC, making it safe for industrial use.

The fiber quality of this variety is characterized by high strength and density: tensile strength ranges from 32–40 daN, linear density — 32–42 tex, and fiber count — 6.0–6.5. These characteristics make Glésia in demand for producing textile and technical products. The variety is widely used in agriculture for obtaining seeds with high oil content, as well as high-quality fiber and biomass.
