ADVANTAGES
• Effectively controls broadleaf weeds from the very beginning of vegetation, including excellent: fragrant marshmallow, Veronica, intermediate chickweed, field knotweed, annual speedwell, medicinal valerian; good: mouse-tailed crabgrass, millet, barnyard grass, clover, field violet, dock, blue violet, wild poppy; satisfactory: stinging nettle, mustard, dandelion,
woolly nettle, pink sow-thistle, common horsetail, wild radish, field shepherd's purse, common yellow dock.
• Inhibits cell division processes and blocks the formation of waxy coating on weed leaves.
• No phytotoxicity to crops, selective towards sugar beets.
• Compatible with other herbicides in tank mixtures to expand the protective spectrum.
• Essential under complex weather conditions — etofumate starts acting at +2...+7°C.
MECHANISM OF ACTION
ARENA is a lipid synthesis inhibitor in seedlings. The active ingredient is absorbed by young weed seedlings when they
contact with the aqueous soil solution of etofumate. In monocots, the preparation enters through the coleoptile during germination, in dicots it is absorbed by the roots. It inhibits meristem growth, slows cell division, and limits the formation of waxy cuticle. Increased soil moisture and moderate temperature enhance the effectiveness
of etofumate. Even prolonged cold weather does not reduce effectiveness — the product provides reliable protection when other herbicides do not act (+2…+7 °C).
PROPERTIES
Rapidly absorbed by aqueous soil solution, eliminates a significant number of broadleaf weeds, including such troublesome ones as common chickweed, white clover, broad-leaved dock, fragrant marshmallow. Highly effective against annual grass weeds (at the collar stage): gray and green foxtail, millet, and others. ARENA's selectivity is based on
seed size — the larger the seed, the less effective the herbicide.
GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
The product is applied at early weed development stages — from the cotyledon stage up to two true leaves.
For simultaneous action in different directions (through leaves and roots) and to expand the spectrum of susceptible weeds, tank mixtures of ARENA (0.6-0.8 l/ha) with other pre-emergence herbicides, for example GLADIATOR (1.2 l/ha), are used. The mixture is prepared immediately before spraying. The amount of the product is determined by the weed species composition, their quantity, and physiological development — the greater the biomass of weeds on the soil surface and the older they are, the greater the amount of active ingredients required to neutralize them.
WORKING SOLUTION DOSAGE
200-400 l/ha.
