The biology of grassy weeds determines their appearance on the field slightly later than dicotyledonous plants. However, the damage they cause to crops is remarkable. Broad-rowed row crops suffer the most from grassy weeds. Since without control, weeds can completely dominate the field by the time the crop plants have closed in the rows, especially in the inter-row spaces. As a result — loss of yield or complete crop failure. The problem can only be solved by using herbicides. Therefore, it is not surprising that effective and time-tested post-emergence protection technologies for sugar beet require mandatory use of graminicides. Among the variety of active substances, clethodim has gained the widest application. Clethodim is used in many preparations for sugar beet, sunflower, flax, soybean, pea, potato, rapeseed, vegetables (more than 40 crops). Thanks to its properties, the new preparation Antey ®, EC, with the well-known active ingredient clethodim, better meets the technological requirements for crop protection and is easier to use.
Antey ®, EC is used only in conjunction with South African Poseidon in a 1:1 ratio. Due to the presence of South African ingredients, the spreading is improved, the evaporation of the working solution on leaf surfaces is slowed down, and the waxy cuticle layer dissolves immediately. Consequently, Antey ®, EC quickly penetrates into the plant and moves to growth points. Within 1-2 weeks, it completely destroys both above-ground and root systems of grassy weeds, preventing regrowth of perennial species. Within 1 hour after application, air temperature and rain do not affect its efficacy.
Advantages
Stable systemic action and high biological efficacy
Provides the fastest among graminicides for the death of existing grassy weeds in Ukraine, thereby reducing competition from weeds for water, nutrients, and light
No phytotoxicity to crops
In tank mixes, enhances the effect of dicotyledonous herbicides
Technological capability: allows for inter-row soil treatment 7 days after application without further regrowth of perennial weed species
Rapidly degrades in soil (half-life — up to 3 days), thus imposing no restrictions on crop rotation
One of the lowest among graminicides cost of treatment per 1 ha of sugar beet and other crops
Mode of action
