Description AFIKO
Turnip 'AFIKO' is a mid-late variety intended for both vegetable production and feed purposes. The plant is characterized by an erect medium-sized rosette of dark green, dissected leaves at the edges. The root is oval with a noticeable downward taper; its skin is red-purple above the soil level and white-light below, giving it an attractive appearance. The root flesh is white, the skin is smooth, and the mass of one fruit reaches 1.2–1.5 kg.

'AFIKO' is distinguished by high yield – up to 475 centners per hectare – and a short vegetation period of 70 days. The variety is resistant to bolting and shows weak susceptibility to diseases and pests, making it convenient for cultivation in various climatic conditions. The plant prefers fertile, well-drained soils with a neutral or weakly alkaline reaction; optimal planting is carried out in spring at a soil temperature of 10–12 °C.

Turnip 'AFIKO' can be used as a fresh vegetable and as a base for preparing dishes. In addition, it is suitable as a feed product for animals. When growing, it is recommended to observe agrotechnical rules and, if necessary, apply fungicides to prevent diseases such as fusarium, powdery mildew, and fungal infections.
