Delphinium 'Rainbow' – is an exquisite perennial variety with a pronounced green-blue double-flowered bloom, valued by both landscape designers and gardeners. The plant reaches a height of up to 1 m (about 100 cm) and a width of approximately 60 cm, making it suitable for both single plantings and group compositions.
The flowering period lasts from June to July, with buds opening during the first two months of summer. Flowers retain freshness and decorative qualities for up to 14 days after cutting, and a second blooming cycle is possible in August–September. The petals are double-flowered, in a soft greenish-blue shade, creating a light rainbow effect.
For successful growth, the delphinium prefers sunny locations without strong wind loads. The soil should be nutritious, well-drained, and slightly acidic (pH 5.5–6.5). Regular but moderate watering is necessary – the plant cannot tolerate waterlogging. If needed, suckers can be removed to maintain a compact shape.
The variety is distinguished by high frost resistance: it withstands temperatures down to -40 °C without additional covering, making it suitable for a wide geographic zone. Care for the plant is simple – just ensure sunlight, moderate watering, and periodic removal of old suckers. Thanks to these characteristics, the delphinium 'Rainbow' becomes an ideal choice for both decorative gardens and floristic compositions.
